Flash content not working in IE 11 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Specs:

    OS: Windows 7

    IE 11.0.9600.17107

I have an application that is written in extJS  using Sencha 4.2 framework. In this application I have two divs that are embedding three flash applications. Two of these applications are compiled with Flashbuilder 4.1A. One is used as a control to our back-end and never seen but uses ExternalInterface calls to communicate with the Javascript layer. The Flashplayer I am using is 14.0.0.125.

The one flash layer that is a control appears to be loading correctly and is able to talk to the javascript layer. But it appears the other flash layers are not loading. Are there any known issues as to why this might be a problem. It was working fine on IE 10.

  • Hi,

Tools>Internet Options>Security tab, click "reset all zones to default"... there is a security zone setting for scripting of activeX controls and one for applets.

File>Properties will show you which IE Security zone your domain is currently mapped to.

If there is a blue circle with a line through it on the rhs of the IE address bar you have ActiveX filtering turned on.

The Shockwave and adobe flash objects can also be disabled from the Tools>Manage addons dialog.

extjs is unsuitable for use on websites that require Compatibility View.

Post questions about html, css and scripting for website developers to the IE Web Development forum. Include with your questions a link to your website, or a mashup or your complete page source.

In the first instance use the Developer tool to troubleshoot any issue.

    Regards.
