  • As you likely know Andre, this is almost always caused by javascript errors and the difficulty is finding the offending line, which normally requires a debugger to be attached.  You should be able to use visual web developer to step through the code:

    Or, use firefox with firebug.

It will be hard to track if this is random it will be difficult to trace, but if its not on a specific page it is likely to be an issue in the master page triggering when certain webparts or page types get loaded, so you should be able to identify a pattern that lets you reproduce this

PS - I don't for one minute think you won't have access to Visual Studio for debugging :)

  • Two tools I rely on are:

    IE Developer Toolbar - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=e59c3964-672d-4511-bb3e-2d5e1db91038&displaylang=en

    Fiddler 2 - http://www.fiddler2.com/fiddler2/

Fiddler won't help debug a script per se, but if it is calling something and waiting for a response it should highlight that.  If this is stock SharePoint then it is unlikely, but certainly if there are any ajax enabled components it could be relevant.

  • Hi,

    thanks for the replys,
I now this can look a noob question.
I already use this tools, but this issue is more strange that looks.
This issues was ask by one of my teams, the first thing on my mind was some load of .js
I manage all loads of Javascript like "init.js, core.js" and others like custom script, to load where i realy need to improve performance, like authenticated users and other zones, there are zones without scripts.
Is very hard to simulate and find the error....
I will focus on that zones where i load scripts to manage, because dont give error and on fiddler dont retrive any .js scripts and Visual Studio dont get the debug of script, just dont give error, just stay there and say "Please wait while scripts are loaded...".

Will mark yours answers, because is the only thing i can do to resolve this problem...
    :P

    Thanks again
