What systems are supported by Session Integrator in Host Integration Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • The documentation on Host Integration Services refers mainly to integration with IBM hosts, but it looks like Session Integrator works as a console scraper. Could it work with any terminal based application, such as one running on VMS?

  • Session Integrator provides APIs to allow you to write screen scraping applications to integrate with IBM mainframe applications. It does not offer integration with VMS.

  • Hi Stephen,

Add on to the above question,

Do we really require to install HIS 2010 (server component) to start using session integrator API ? Or can we use HIS client/SDK to achieve this.  Also if the second option is valid then what would we install in the deployment server.  I assume we need to install client (not sdk) in the deployment server (as the related dlls will be copied along with the executable.

    Thanks

  • Session Integrator is considered a "Server" feature so it is only installed when installing the HIS 2010 Server components.
