ADMX: how do create default values for listbox and enabled by default

    Question

  • I am trying to pre-populate some values based on what a user enters into a form, and then spit out an admx/adml file. So two questions about creating custom admx files:

    1. can you create default values for a <listbox>? I see you can do that for a <textbox> by using <defaultvalue>.
    2. can you enabled a listbox and textbox by default? It seems to be set to not configured by default.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Yea, it looks like that is a limitation with listbox and default values. I also tried looking at other elements, and doesn't seem to fix my use case.

However, I decided to take another approach, and looked into 'creating' the custom XML file that can be imported into Group Policy Preferences.

I followed these steps here for future reference:

    Thanks!
