Task Bar RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was wiping off my key board and now the Windows task bar will not stay. I have set it to not hide - I have tried restarting a number of times - And when I just reset/restart "windows" it shows up but will not stay. If I press the windows key it will pop up but the again it will not stay on top. I have tried ALL that I can seem to find and of course it says to ALL that I have but Nothing says if this doesn't work, do XXXX, nada dang thing. So I'm here asking - Thank you!

  • You may kill and restart Explorer from the command line

Use Windows + R to open the run box.
    Type cmd.
    Type taskkill /im explorer.exe /f
    Type explorer
    Type exit

Open Command Prompt as Admin and run the following command:

    sfc /scannow

Open Command Prompt as Admin and run the following command:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth. Press the Enter key to run the command.

  • Hi,

Try to check as S.Sengupta said, besides we also could try following steps.

Create a new user account and check if the issue persists.

After the task bar disappeared, please check if any changes in Settings\Personalization\Taskbar.

Check if the issue persists in Safe Mode environment.

Check the if any available update package in Settings\Update&Security\Windows Update. If exists, try to update system.

    Bests,

  • Thank you both very much... I actually went through Microsoft tech and they took over my PC and had me do a Mini reload of windows 10 - it did the trick, the task bar is back and things are running even better.

I really appreciate your reply's thank you so much!
