Printer Sharing - Seen but not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Environment:
Desktop PC running Windows 7 has an attached HP4260 Deskjet

    Laptop running Vista Home Premium

from laptop I can "see" the printer. I can send a print job from Word, and I see it getting into the queue and spooling. The problem is it spools for about 5 minutes, then deletes itself and never prints.

I can print directly from either machine, just not over my home network.

    Thanks,
    Ron

  • Your permissions are not being set right because the Vista machine is using a type of "Homegroup" that cannot join a Win 7 Homegroup. I suggest changing the setting in the Win 7 machine to a "Work network". You may then need to change the workgroup membership of the Vista machine to that workgroup name also.

  • I´m not sure about answer. I have same problem but instead I have 2 printers one works properly in network  and the oher not, I think should be a drivers issue, because when I tried to install driver was not installed properly.
