UAG SP2: Login fails with special character (+ or &) in form based auth RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

we have deployed a web app based on java and tomcat in our uag 2010 SP2 that can be accessed by form based authentication (via POST method).

Everything works fine unless the users' password contains certain special charatcers like '+' or '&'. Then login fails.
If I access the web app directly I can log in successfully with those passwords, so it must be a uag issue.

I know there were problems earlier with uag and handling special characters and you had to change the escape-function to the encodeuri...-function in the login.asp. I have checked this and we have set the right function there. So, this is not the problem.

Is that a known issue or what have I done wrong? Both the '+' as well as the '&' are reserved characters in context with urls, so maybe it's a problem there? What else can I check? I have already made some logging with the uag tracing tool, but that all seemed ok for me.

I am desperate. Thanks for help.
