Exchange 2007 to 2010 Cross forest migration RRS feed

  • hi all,

    im doing Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010 cross forest migration , i got the below error when i try to  move mailboxes

    Failed to reconnect to Active Directory server dc1.domain.local. Make sure the server is available, and that you have
     used the correct credentials.
        + CategoryInfo          : NotSpecified: (0:Int32) [New-MoveRequest], RemoteTransientException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : 8B8A4D2B,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.RecipientTasks.NewMoveRequest

    i can run prepare move request successfully, remote and local credentials are configured in bot forests and member of recipients administrators , Exchange servers administrators and local administrators in all exchange servers.

    thanks for the help my problem was that i can't reach my mailbox servers because of network problem.

  • $RemoteCredentials = Get-Credential
    $LocalCredentials = Get-Credential

    New-MoveRequest -Identity "user1" -RemoteLegacy -BadItemLimit 1000 -AcceptLargeDataLoss:$true  -TargetDatabase "DB1" -RemoteGlobalCatalog "dc1.domain1.local" -RemoteCredential $RemoteCredentials -TargetDeliveryDomain "domain2.com"

  • another thing the Exchange 2007 mailbox is clustered as CCR is that will make a difference?

  • Did you tried moving a single mailbox at a time.

    Do you have firewall between two exchange organizations ?
