Link to Planner Button Missing in Task Ribbon RRS feed

  • Hello,

    Some users in our organization do not have the Link to Planner Button in the Task Ribbon after connecting Project Professional to Project Online.

    From what I understand, after following 'Create a Project server account' in the above instructions, the button should become visible. So far, this has only worked for a single user. This user has the same version of Office 365 Project Professional (16.0.9126.2295) as the other users. This user doesn't seem to have any extra Office 365 apps installed. All users have the a project online license.

    Any advice you can offer would be helpful.

  • I would try repairing the application via the control panel.

  • Repair did not fix it.

    Is this button supposed to be there regardless of if you have a project online license?

    I build the installation in SCCM using the 365 client installation wizard. Is there anything special I might need to include as part of the installation?

  • I believe it is there only as a feature of what is now called the Project Online Desktop Client, ie the product bought and licenced via O365.  

    I have no knowledge of the 365 client installation wizard so cannot comment on that.
