"Avg. Disk Queue Length: Mean=2, Minimum=0.8, Maximum=6"; (Windows 7- H.Prem.). RRS feed

  • Question

  • I ran a, "Performance and Reliability" Report; and it flagged (the above) as an error.  Anyone with recommendations on what to do? (It mentioned defragmentation, but have already done that, beforehand- as do routinely).  Any advise? Thanks, Rollo.

  • Disk Queue Length means that the disk cannot keep up with the data that is
being read to or written from it. Unless defragging helps, you need faster
disk access. This means a faster disk or some sort of RAID setup.
