SCCM client uninstall from the SCCM console RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

Would it be possible to uninstall the SCCM client already installed on a workstation via the SCCM console?

Or the only method would be via ccmsetup /uninstall ?

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

You cannot uninstall the client from the console "out of the box". But if you modify the console you can add the feature. You can get the feature from the right click tools - http://www.myitforum.com/myITWiki/SCCMTools.ashx or from the Config Mgr Client Center - http://sourceforge.net/projects/smsclictr

  • Correct, we do not provide an uninstall feature from the console. The only thing we'd provide, without going to 3rd party or custom solutions, would be to either do a remote control session to the client and initiate a "Ccmsetup /uninstall" or send a software distribution package to launch that same command line.
Oh and I don't know if there is a 3rd party solution for this, but marking Kent's response as the answer, as we don't provide it.

  • On this topic im working with SCCM 2012R2. We pushed the client and EP to some computers thus creating the package to remove the client. We watched the logs while the removal was successful. The console still shows the clients as installed which is strange. Is this a bug? We physically saw the live logs the un install complete.

  • WE have two easy way to uninstall the SCCM client from console.

    1. WE can create the package for Uninstallation of client in console & deploy to collection.

    2. We can use " Now Micro Right click tool"- Client Tools on collection- uninstall client

    Thanks...

  • I appreciate your answer.
At the moment I have the task of uninstalling the "Skype Enterprise".
But I have had issues due to the type of package that I prepared the uninstall from SCCM console (I guess)

Err from memory the RCT will not help with that. It will only uninstall the SCCM client.

There really shouldn't be any tricks to this, create a package/program with the command line need to uninstall Skype.
