Trust Relationship Failed

    Question

  • Hi!

We suddenly started getting "Trust Relationship failed" on my of our domain connected PCs. After restarting the primary DC we were able to login to the domain on those pcs.

    Any Suggestions?

Windows 2012 DCs and Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 Workstations.

    Thanks.

  • May have some replication issues.

  • This is most likely related to AD replication failures. Please run repadmin /syncall on your DCs and see if any failures are reported. If any are found, you can refer to my troubleshooting guide: http://www.ahmedmalek.com/web/fr/articles.asp?artid=23

  • Hi,
I assume the detail error message is The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed. The cause might be: The computer's machine account has the incorrect role or its password has become mismatched with that of the domain database.
If that is the case, please have a try the following methods:
    1. Reset the computer account in ADUC
    2. Rejoin the computer to domain.
    Please see details from: https://redmondmag.com/articles/2014/04/21/domain-trust-issues.aspx
