use remote cmdlet on a local machine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just read a great article by June Blender called "remoting the implicit way", which was all about running remote cmdlets on remote machines.  That's great, but I'm hoping to run a remote cmdlet on a local machine.

I want to use the Add-odbcDsn cmdlet from the Wdac module of a remote server to run on my local computer that I set the script off from.  So, I want the actual ODBC datasource to be set on my local computer that doesn't have access to the Wdac Module locally.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help!

PS:  new-pssesion/import module all run on the remote machine.

    Thanks, Chris

  • Win 7 does not support the ODBC API being used.

WDAC and the CmdLets only run on Windows 8 and later.
