Windows mail transfer from old hard drive

Hi

My vista pc crashed big time but I was able to take out my 2 hard drives now my question is how do i retrieve all email messages and emails from windows mail vista to windows 10 I am using a USB connector to transfer all data there please advise

Hi,

If you are able to connect to the hard driver, have a look at this location:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders

You will probably have to show both Hidden and System files to see the files and folders. You will see things like your Inbox, Outbox, etc. You can then copy those for backup purposes.

Hi,

This will depend on what type of an email account setup you had. If it is an Imap, all you need to do is to resetup the account and it should re-download the emails. However, If you setup the account as a POP, the emails should be located in your "My Documents" or Under "users/%profile%/appdata/Local/...
