Cant save files on the desktop or my documents folder RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed steady state on a test pc for the intension of using it as a workstation in an internet cafe, everything worked fine and i was quite saticified with the security except for one thing, I could no longer save any files to the desktop or in my documents, how do i get around this?

Another question that i have about steady state is can i manually set the user account type to guest and still apply the security restrictions of steady state to add extra security (preventing users from installing software from the net)

Have you set the restriction "Prevent users from creating folders and files on drive C:\" in Set Computer Restrictions? If so, let's uncheck the restriction and check the result. If you do not want the user to access C:\, you can  hide the drive in User Settings. And yes, you can apply restrictions on the user and change user type to guest.
