linking Excel data to Project 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I linked several columns from Excel to Project 2010 using:

copy (in Excel) -> Paste Special (in Project) -> Paste Link -> Text Data.

it all went well until i decided to add a row in the excel table. this broke the data in project. the row that I entered took the place of an already existing task, thus changing it's values.

can anyone help? am I doing anything wrong here?

    thanks,

    Yuval

Using "linking" like this is known to be fragile and problematic, and is not recommended by folks on this forum. Unfortunately, Microsoft has retained this capability and not apparently fixed the unreliability.  Search past posts here to see this message.

I'd recommend you find another way to achieve the automation you seek.
