Ghost languages in Win 7 x64 Ultimate RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have English (US) and Bulgarian Phonetic installed on my system with English being the default UI language. Every once in a while, I'll install Italian. But whenever I install or uninstall languages the system automatically installs Japanese, Chinese simplified, Chinese traditional and Korean. They don't show up in the General tab of the Settings window, but they sit in the language bar and when I have to scroll between languages I have to scroll through 6 languages to get to what I want. Restarting USUALLY gets rid of the issue, but it happens WAY too often. Any suggestions?

  • Hi vicada91,

    Thanks for posting here!

I would like to confirm what the ghost language you mentioned, MUI or input language?

I recommend to uninstall the unnecessary input language or MUI language to see if the problem persists. For more information, please refer to the following link:

  • They were input languages, but they don't show up in "Text services and input languages"->"General", so I can't uninstall them. Thanks for the reply!
