Unable to create a new folder in Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Several problems since upgrading from Vista to Windows 7. When I right click on the dektop I then click on New and then Folder but no Folder is created.  I am also having difficulty creating shortcuts.  If I right click on a shortcut or app I do not get an option to pin to the taskbar or start menu. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

May I know if all the shortcut icons or applications on the desktop cannot be pinned?

At this time, please create a new user account and see how it works.

    Thanks.

  • I am now able to create folders.  I did a system restore.  However, I still do not get pin to taskbar or pin to start menu when I right click a shortcut or app that is on the desktop.  I can go to the program folder and right click on the app there and I do get a pin to taskbar selection.  But then when I click pin to taskbar nothing appears on the taskbar.  Thanks again in advance for your help.
