Are these Exchange UM Features or Issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are currently piloting Exchange 2010 UM four users. We have the below experience and wonder is this is an issue or by design?

#1 The auto attendant only finds names in the directory that are UM enabled

#2 Using the system attendant an valid UM enabled user can leave a voicemail (and they receive it) for a user who is NOT enabled for UM. This is strange?

Also isn't it strange that #2 above picks up the non UM user in the SA and not in the AA?

  • 1. The AA can be setup to allow callers to contact UM enabled accounts within the UM Dial Plan (the AA is assigned to), anyone in your default GAL, or anyone in a particular address list...  Where UM has dialing rule groups that allow calls to the "normalized" business phone numbers.

    2. Not strange to me, but that may be a matter of opinion.  UM enabled accounts can actually send a voicemail to anyone in the GAL (that has a DTMF assignment or grammer generated for it) or to their personal contacts that have an email address.
