Error while configuring incoming emails RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am configuring incoming emails for sharepoint document library.

I have created an OU in Active Directory. I have given write access to Cental Admin Application Pool accout by delegate control. I have created new Microsoft Exchange record for the MOSS server. Configured SMTP server to accept relaying from the domain excange server on MOSS server.

I am getting the following error while setting Director Management Service in Central Admin: "Either the specified Active Directory container does not exist or it has not granted the correct permissions to the central administration application pool account".

Can anyone let me know how do I resolve it?

    Thanks,
    Nilesh

  • Is your farm account (Central Admin app pool account) running as the app pool for your content web app?  It shouldn't be, so you should fix that.  If it's NOT, then you've given the wrong account access to the OU.  If it currently is, then if you want to test before fixing, then raise that account's access in the OU to full control and see if it works.  Write permissions aren't always enough, I've found.

  • Open IIS and expand Web application, go to application pool and see the properties on identify tab, verify you dont use "network services" and use a domain account prefered "same you install sharepoint".
