Uninstalling Windows SteadyState v. 2.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to uninstall Window SteadyState v. 2.0 (because it slows down the login process) and I get a "warning" message when I try to run the uninstaller. It says that the following programs might stop working after I uninstall Windows SteadyState. It lists a few of the programs I have installed in addition to some of the Security Updates from Windows Update that I have installed. Why does it say that this will stop working when I uninstall Windows SteadyState? Is this something to worry about?

Btw, I have never used "WDP".

  • Hi Olav,

    Thank you for posting here.

Based on my experience, this is a normal warning message in case you have related updates or other software installed. For SteadyState, we can continue with the un-installation without issue.

Just for your information, before removing SteadyState, please make sure all SteadyState Restrictions have been removed, user profile was not locked either. If you didn’t remove them from SteadyState, these restrictions will be kept after removing SteadyState.

    Best Regards,
