  • I shall suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the printer. Once done, update via windows update.

  • Hi,

Besides that, please also run the following command to scan and fix all corrupted system files:

    sfc /scannow

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

  • I get the error below every time I boot since I loaded Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Printing to network printer and locally to PDF works without problem. I have tried SFC and DISM commands suggested. The error message does not appear on a virtual machine, though I have disabled the printing option in Hyper-V Enhanced mode to prevent a crash of VMconnect which is discussed in this forum. I wonder if the VMconnect and splwow64 crashes are related?

  • Try installing patch KB4051963 (OS Build 16299.98):

I've installed the update on one system and after two reboots I no longer get the splwow64.exe crash. I did not have difficulty printing so not certain it will solve your problem.
