  • When I attempt to remove, or reinstall, the Shared Computer Toolkit on Windows XP SP2, I receive 'There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.' How can I remove SCT?

  • Hi TJiron,

The issue can be caused by the following factors:

    1. The Shared Computer Toolkit program has been damaged.

    2. Windows Installer component is corrupted.

Let’s use Windows Installer Cleanup utility to uninstall Shared Computer Toolkit (SCT)

    1. Please download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility from this link:

Note: although it is released as a Microsoft Office update, it can be used to fix Windows Installer.

    2. Then, please run it from Start-> All Programs-> Windows Install Clean Up.

    3. Please select the Shared Computer Toolkit program and click Remove.

As most restrictions will be retained after removing the program, I recommend removing all SCT restrictions before removing SCT.

    Best Regards,
