Why Windows 7 sound when AnyConnect VPN connected while the sound setting showed sound=none for AnyConnect

    Question

  • When Cisco AnyConnect VPN is connected, windows 7 has a sound constantly.  I went to the sound settings and made sure that sound is off for "AnyConnect"  but it still sounds.  The sound disappeared only if I turn all sounds off.  But I want keep other sounds, just do not want sound for this event.

This just happens recently, AnyConnect did not sound before.

Any idea how to fix this?

    Thanks for any tips!

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your question.

What is the sound? Can you describe it? Is it the beep of the machine or the sound coming from the stereo?

Will the sound disappear when disconnect from VPN?

Could you please list the picture of volume Mixer when connect VPN?

Please feel free to let me know if you need any assistance.

    Best Regards,

    Eric

  • Windows 7 doesn't/should not show a "Any sound connection",sound properties get edited thru R.click the speaker by the clock/select "Playback devices" edit sound controller & speakers....Also,when specific sound plays, open task mgr/Applications tab/R.click on it/open file location, get its properties....
