Sim ring and call forward RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just wanted to verify that Lync on mobile works as I tested?

If I am logged on to Lync on my computer and mobile:  It rings on Lync on both mobile and computer.

Simulring to mobile number with a logged on Lync client: It rings on Lync on both mobile and computer. But not on the mobile number

Simulring to mobile number with a logged off Lync client:  It rings on Lync on the computer and on the mobile number

Simring to a mobile number without a lync client and logged on to Lync mobile on another mobile: It rings on the mobile without Lync, Lync on the mobile and Lync on the computer.

Call forward to mobile with logged on Lync client: Call gets transferred to the mobile (not the Lync client)

Unaswered call setting to go to mobile number with a logged on Lync client: It rings on Lync on the computer and on the mobile. After x seconds (the time set for call answer time) the call is dropped with an error in Lyncreporting saying that the device is not registered.

Unaswered call setting to go to mobile number with a logged off Lync client: It rings on Lync on the computer. After x seconds (the time set for call answer time) the call is transferred to the mobile.

To me this is saying that if I want to use the mobile as a regular mobile I have to log out of the Lync client on the mobile otherwise incoming calls from the Lync server is blocked or dropped.

One note is that I´m using the Lync 2013 client on a windows phone. It could be that other OS works in a different way

  • Yes, this is the default behavior at the moment for the mobile client.
