Image Windows 10 Pro RRS feed

  • Question

  • creating images, I used sysprep on a machine, then I would use imagex to create the image and imagex to restore to a new HDD

was simple, and every six months or so I'd create new image as needed, is their something as simple out there now to work on Win10Pro, that simple, not looking to deploy over network or anything like that, I have a small environment and only image if we get new equipment or on corrupted system..

    Thanks

  • I would use MDT. It could take a little bit of time to set up, but it is well worth it. If you search around you can find PowerShell scripts to do it all for you. I would also recommend creating your images on a virtual machine. With that, you can use snapshots to roll back any changes that are undesired. Windows 10 Pro and on has Hyper-V available (providing you have the right CPU), and Oracle offers Virtual Box as a freebie, both are good products. Microsoft has a great tutorial for creating Windows 10 images with MDT.
