Combining 24-hours and 8-hours calendar RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I am working in a project that has 3 different sub-projects. Two of them need to be in a 24-hours calendar and the other one has to be in a 8-calendar (standard).

    Every time I merge them (either linking them automatically or copying and pasting) MS Project change dates and/or durations.

    Any ideas?

    Many Thanks

  • In the 24 hours project did you define a day as 24 hours?  I guessing you assigned the 24 hours calendar as the project calendar?

    I cannot reproduce what you report in Project 2010 with SP-1.  I've created two projects:

    24 hours with Day = 24, Week = 168 hours.

    4 tasks duration = 1 day Tasks span midnight to midnight.

    8 hours project - Day = 8, week= 40

    Calendar = Standard

    4 tasks duration = 1 tasks are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

    Insert both as linked into new project.  All tasks still show duration = 1 day and the start and end dates/times are correct.

    What have you done differently - if anything.
