I have already tried this on moss 2007

We are planning to have moss on the company

and sharepoint 2010 release schedule is June I think and so I am thinking on developing on the beta version as early as now since I don't want to migrate from 2007 to 2010 in just 2 or 3 months.

How could I make use of the downloadable helpdesk template from microsoft

    Enlight me please.

  • You can't use the existing SharePoint 2007 templates with SharePoint 2010.  Microsoft is working on updating the templates for SharePoint 2010.  Until the updates are complete you really don't have a choice but to either wait or develop a similar site template in SharePoint 2010 yourself.

  • Microsoft announced a while back that they will not be updating the 2007 templates for use in 2010.  A third party has upgraded some of them.  You can find the ones that have been upgraded here:

So, if we are looking for out of the box solutions - Sticking with 2007 would be our best bet for now. I am not looking to do a huge effort to re-invent the wheel, and since MS is not too forthcoming on release dates... this is what makes sense to me. Would seem to be counter-productive to MS's ramp-up for 2010.

  • Are you tried???

I am using “SharePoint 2010 Standard Edition”. When I create new site, it’s giving following error.
