Windows Server 2012 update Error Code 80072EE2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I cannot receive updates on my server which brought me to this page http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-update-error-80072ee2#1TC=windows-7

    Which says to add exceptions to my firewall, but my firewall is disabled.

    What is the next step?

  • You might try;

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    Also check the cbs.log, dism.log and windowsupdate.log files for errors. If you need help I'd first delete or move the current log files, try again (above command) then if issues put them up on OneDrive and share a link.

  • Hi Awoitte,

    This issue can be related to network issue. Where do you get the updates?Internet or WSUS?

    For internet:

    Please make sure to add Microsoft websites into Trusted websites, and if there is any proxy settings, disable it to check the issue.

    For WSUS please check this thread:
