ATA vs Live Migrations

Question

Hello ,
We do have three hyper-v server as follows:
- HV01
- HV02
- HV03
We do have 30 Virtual machines all are windows distributed among hyper-V's as follows:
- on regular days usually we host 15 VMs on each hyper-v ,and the third one will be in standby state
- if disaster or failure happened we drain the problematic Hyper-v and migrate all its Vm's to the standby Hyper-v
Each Hyper-V node configured With The following :
- NIC Teaming (One Team contain 4 NIC using LACP and hyper-v port as load balancing Mode)
- Vlan ID
- Live Migration Is Enabled
- Replication is enabled on all of the nodes
- all nodes and Vm's are W2K12R2
- virtual switches are having the same name
Some of IT Departments strict policies :(
- Domain Controllers (4 of them) must be distributed on two nodes (Each node should have two Only)
A while ago we have deployed ATA using lightweight gateway agents on Domain Controllers during that time we where able to move domain controllers using live migration among all Hyper-V nodes without any issue
my question is how can enable port mirroring for ata and all hyper-v nodes ? is that be affected when i move the dc or even ata to another hyper-v host ? when live migrating ?
i have enabled port mirroring on all DC vms as source and on ATA VM as destination as well

Hello,
Please see the following screenshot for deploying ATA Gateway on the virtualization cluster. More details, please refer to the following article.

In addition, to configure port mirroring on the Hyper-V host, you can read the following blog article.

If you are using Lightweight Gateways only, there is no need to use port mirroring at all.Sunday, October 7, 2018 10:40 AM
