Unit Test Stored Procedures RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am getting into unit testing for sprocs and have not gone this route before as for me and the company as well. Therefore, this is all new to us and my resources are limited.

I am working with SQL Server 2000 and do not have the Visual Studio Team Edition as this is all I can find when searching the web. So until then, I will be manually writing up the unit tests and maybe at some point have it be automated in the future. I am getting into pre-tests, tests, and post-tests.

Does anyone have a few samples as for some guidance on how to go about doing this. I have been reading up on MSDN but its mostly based on the Team Edition, which sucks for me!

    Thanks in advance!

  • You may wish to look at www.ApexSQL.com's SQLEdit tool. It is a decent T-SQL unit testing platform, and not very expensive. And the fully featured eval is free to download.
