  • Hello,

As far as I know, this update is not list in Microsoft Update Catalog, so WSUS could not have this update in it.

If you want to bulk install this update, you may try other way, such as scripting, group policy.

    Regards,

    Yan Li

  • Check Security and Critical Update Catagories from WSUS Console and re sync again with MS update servers.

Then use Search or import Option from WSUS console...

  • Hi, it is not on the catalog. The more recent one for "update for Outlook 2016" are from december.

This is important for using sccm to deploy updates.

  • I can't understand why microsoft don't publicate that update on the catalog of wsus !! Why in that case it's different?? It's a update to solve a problem made by microsoft!  We don't have the time to wait for that. We just installed Office 2016 on over 150 computers !

We don't have SCCM but WSUS designed to deploy update !

Thank to all for you help, i just blame Microsoft for this kind of shit

  • Microsoft, please put this on WSUS.  I don't want to go to 300+ individual machines to get them updated.  What is taking so long?

  • The KB4011123  is not present in the microsoft catalog. I just not understand why the kb is available online but not on the wsus, it's a non sens. In addition that bug is a big problem in the company and the employed ask why we migrate to the newer version of Office when the old 2010 works perfectly.

Thank MAUKP for the link but i know that link i just don't want apply that KB on all computers by my self. The only way to do that with the minimum of lost time is by using WSUS.

Is ispossible that the kb is available through wsus in the following days ?

  • Sorry to say about that...

But Some KBs are supported for WSUS as below,

    https://www.systemcenterdudes.com/sccm-add-microsoft-update-catalog-wsus-server/

This feature support only for SCCM.. you can download and install offline install file through SCCM.

Then you have to purchase SCCM license.

Or You can try Windows Deployment Service to do this. I have not used that for production level.

  • Also the fix will be broadly available in the February Public Updates.

Why do you assume that? Do you see any information about that?

Unless it's coming as part of another update it appears that KB4011123 missed the Februarypatches: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/office_sustained_engineering/2018/02/06/february-2018-non-security-office-update-release/  :(

Also, I like the idea of WSUS Package Publisher but it looks like it's been pulled.  There's nothing at all on Github except comments and codeplex has archives and source code but nothing complied.  My Googlefu is pretty strong but in 30 minutes I haven't found a download. Edit: nevermind.  I found the link at https://github.com/DCourtel/Wsus_Package_Publisher/releases/download/v1.3.1702.27/Release.v1.3.1702.27.7z.  I didn't drill down quite far enough.

Hopefully MS releases this patch soon to the world.

  • Hi Herken,

The February updates are now out.  Can you confirm which February update resolves this issue that is available in WSUS?  Thank you!

  • Hello,

no, actually i don't find that update in the february update in wsus...

  • I actually see that the patch is not in the "February Update" list, nor is it available via the "Catalog update". So, WSUS and SCCM do not see this patch. MS should not tell that it will be available in the "February Update" if it will not be.

MS, please make it available via WSUS/SCCM as we all do not want to create a package (via SCCM or other system) because the update schedule of WSUS/SCCM is the best way to deal with such patches.

  • Fixed in KB4011682 - which is available in WSUS. (KB4011123 didn't sync in WSUS for me either)

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4011682/descriptionofthesecurityupdateforoutlook2016february13-2018

Have tested this here & can confirm it does fix the issue

  • Just to throw another voice with this, it has been resolved for me as well.  I didn't track the specific KB but it is resolved.

  • The update is still neither on WSUS nor on Microsoft Update Catalog though....?
