Superfetch is a Zombie RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I need to stop & disable Superfetch for good, as it degrades my PC's performance very much.

Whenever I stop & disable the process (Services -> Superfetch -> Stop & disable), the PC runs smoothly fast.

Later (inconsistent - it can be minutes, hours, or even days!), when I feel a performance degradation, I check

that very service, and guess what? It's back alive! This happened a million times, and I could not find out

a way to stop it forever (I also tried to disable it from registery, but no luck)

My Windows is 8 (not 8.1), 64 bit OS, x64 bit processor (Intel Core i5), PC brand is Samsung.

Any help to kill the zombie is very much appreciated.

For example, how can I know who is responsible of enabling and starting this service again (may be another service or process ) ? I kind of suspect my AV (SEP).

Thanks for any hint, insight or suggestion.
