When accessing an existing Mysite, does MySite Creation instead and never completes. RRS feed

  • Question

  • When users try to access their MySites, "Please wait while your personal site is setup for the first time and the default document libraries and lists are created.  This may take several seconds" shows up for some time, then a box comes up after some time with the title Windows Internet Explorer, that says "Out of memory at line: 11" with only an OK button.  When OK is pressed, the box just comes up again.  We tried to reapply the security settings, but that did not help.  We have Self-service site management disabled on the MySite web application, but that was always disabled and the sites worked before.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Try restarting timer services on all the WFEs.

If still it persists then use STSADM createsite to check if it works.

  • Hi,

    This needs to be verified.

Your exception details says that system has not enough memory to carry out the operation.

Can you try the same during non business hours ?

If still it happens I would suggest you to use memory counters and do the performance analysis using perfmon.

You can also use debug diag to generate memory dump at that time.

Try these out and do let me know the results.

  • The server definitely has enough memory.  It has 28 gigabytes of physical memory and is only using about 6 gigabytes.  It should not even be saying that the MySite is being set up for the first time because it already exists.
