Multiple DDI's and Voicemail Options RRS feed

  • Question

  • Couple of scenarios presented to us recently:

Can you assign multiple DDI's to the same user and have voicemails, missed call notifications etc delivered to the same UM mailbox (many DDI's - 1 mailbox)?

Can a user on occasion forward their calls to a common area Lync phone and, if calls go unanswered, have voicemail delivered to their personal mailbox / Lync client rather than any associated with the common area phone?

Answers

  • In Lync you can have one phonenumber for incomming/outgoing calls and one private number for only incommin numbers. If users using call forwarding to a common phone after the configured timeout the call will be transfered to the users Voicemail.

For Exchange UM you can configure more then one number via powershell.

But normal you will have only one Primary phonenumber per user.
