    How do I provide permissions to Search Box in master Page? Only the owners of the site should be able to see and use Search Box, Members and Visitors should not see the Search box in the site. Where and how do i write the code in Master Page.

    While you can hide the search box, a savvy user will always be able to use the search functionality. Keep in mind that users will only see search results for items that they have permissions to.

    Thanks for the reply. I'm using SharePoint 2007. Members do have access to the list or libraries but they are allowed to see only their own submissions, they are not supposed to see complete list. Search results give the complete list URL which i want to avoid.

    When they navigate to the list, they will only see items which they have permissions to. How are you restricting them to only see their own submissions?
