temporary internet files disk space (IE)

    Question

  • Is there a GPO to set the disk space that IE can use for temporary internet files? I cannot find it anywhere.

    I am hoping this will resolve an underlying issue of multiple PC slowing down over the course of the day while browsing in IE.  It doesn't occur when using Chrome.

    Thanks!

  • Hi.

    GPO--> User configuration-->Preferences-->Control Panel Settings-->Internet Settings-->

    Right click on the right side --> Click to New-->> Select your version of Internet Explorer-->General tab-->

    Browsing history tab--> Settings-->Type the size of temp files.

  • Hi Eddiesa,

     Changing Registry key should be work:

    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\InternetSettings\5.0\Cache\Contentlimit

    Try for a GPO to modify this registry key
