Booting Windows Embeded From SD Card RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have some question regarding boot of windows Embedded from Secure Digital Card directly connected to PCI bus. (not USB to SD)

    We are using a platform based on a Atom Z530 with US15W; in our last Phoenix bios the SD boot is enable and works.

    We are able to start boot windows XP boot from SD, we modify the "SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Services" registry to change prority of sdbus.sys and sffdisk.sys.

    Windows boot stops with the error code 7B.

    We are using the kernel debugger and I saw that using devnode Windows can find the device:
    ------
            DevNode 0x853ae708 for PDO 0x85368e50
              InstancePath is "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_811D&SUBSYS_81198086&REV_07\3&267a616a&0&F1"
              ServiceName is "sdbus"
              State = DeviceNodeStarted (0x308)
              Previous State = DeviceNodeStarted (0x308)
              DevNode 0x853612d0 for PDO 0x85361418
                InstancePath is "SD\VID_00&OID_0000&PID_MS&REV_2.0\4&3b40870b&0&0"
                ServiceName is "sffdisk"
                State = DeviceNodeStarted (0x308)
                Previous State = DeviceNodeStarted (0x308)
                DevNode 0x853d08c0 for PDO 0x853d0a08
                  InstancePath is "STORAGE\RemovableMedia\5&23fd4a2b&0&RM"
                  TargetDeviceNotify List - f 0xe1138818  b 0xe1138818
                  State = DeviceNodeStarted (0x308)
                  Previous State = DeviceNodeStarted (0x308)
    ----

    But is not able to boot.

    Microsoft has any solution or suggest to fix it?

    thanks and regards,
