Extending the task bar to a second monitor/Task bar always in front RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello!

    Two questions:

    1. Can I extend the task bar to a second monitor? Meaning I want to have more space for Icons and have the Notification Area on the second monitor.

    2. How can I Keep the taskbar behind program windows?, without turning on the hide option, that is. I want programs to be in front of the task bar. XP have this option.

    Thanks!

  • Hi willy4360,

First, Windows 7 cannot extending the Taskbar to multiple monitors. However, some third party software can achieve this. You can refer to Extending Windows 7 task bar across multiple displays.

Regarding the "keep the taskbar on top of other windows" option, it is removed in Windows 7. I noticed that many other users are having the same request. We are collecting the feedback from our customers whiling using Windows 7 to help improve users' experiences. I will help to forward your feedback to our related team.

Again, thank you very much for your feedback!
