Enterprise Project stuck in limbo-land RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I had one of those pesky view failed to load issues with some of our guys timesheets. I narrowed it down to a project that they all work on so I went into the project and cleaned up some of the entries and <published>.

Now PWA and project professional will not allow edit it as it is marked as "not checked in", but it doesn't show up in the "Force Checkin" list and there is no failed checkin in the queue.

I'm really stuck on this one - it seems to be badly corrupted to a point where it's just not behaving. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

  • Hi Craig,

Have you tried to clean your cache before trying to repair the file as a corrupted file?

See an excellent article about the required steps to clean the cache:

    http://www.epmcentral.com/msp2010/pjcacheoverview.php

Then if it appears that the file is crrupted, refer to the foolwoing repair method or the save for sharing method:

    http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm#Handling_project_file_corruption_and/or_bloat

    Hope this helps,

  • Try deleting the time-sheet and then re-creating it.

Make sure you make note of any admin time (sickness, holiday, ect...) as admin time does not get saved.

Any other time assigned to any project will be saved.

  • Hi,

As Damean said , delete the timesheet and recreate it.

  • Hi Guillaume,

unfortunately this doesn't work (it was what I tried first). I am currently going through and setting all remaining hours to 0 for all tasks for these guys who are having the problem, then I will create a set of new tasks for them, which will (hopefully) show in the view.

It would be really helpful if project server threw a more meaningful exception than "Cant create the view".

<Many thanks for your help btw>

    Cheers,
