down loading xp service packs RRS feed

  • put my pc back to factory setting the system is running XP with no service packs when i try  to download service pack 1 it stats download and then has error message   "server did not respond"  and ask me to retry but i get the same results. untill i can bring the service packs upto date i'm stuck with Explorer 6 hope some one out there can help

  • well, use other computer and download the service pack from microsoft,save to flash drive  and install it,as far as I known you cannot acces to windows update homepage  if you dont have sp2 installed , good luck...
    any help is well appreciated, it all depends on who needs it

  • Use another computer, download the Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3 installers from the following addressess

    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=28 (Service Pack 2)
    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=24 (Service Pack 3)

    and install them manually; reboot your systema after completing each Service Pack installation.
    Run Windows Update at the end.
