Creating Status Filter Rule - Missing Component type RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, I'm following a couple guides to set up notification emails for successful/failed task sequences. In one guide it has me creating a Status Filter Rule and setting the Component to 'Task Sequence Manager'. However, that isn't listed one my drop down menu for Component. All of mine begin with 'SMS_'.

Another guide has be setting the Source in my Status Filter Rule to 'ConfigMgr Client'. Which I do have, but I still don't get the notifications when my task sequences finish. My scripts work fine when I execute them directly. One thing I noticed is that in my advertisement logs the source for Status Messages is 'SMS Client'. Are SMS Client and ConfigMgr Client different things? I'm using SCCM 2007 R2

  • Just type in Task Sequence Manager manually, it will still work. It seems that some installations will list this component in the drop down box and others will not.
