  • Question

  • Dear all,

We are having problem in rename project.

The account is in portfolio group. He cannot rename project.

Then I set his account with Administrator permission template. He still cannot rename project.

Then I add his account to Administrator group, he can rename project.

What am I doing wrong here?

    Thanks very much

  • Hi there--

In order to rename the the project user must have the category permissions "Open Project" and  "Save Project to Project Server".
By default this is given to Administrators, Portfolio Managers (My Organisation) and Project Managers (My Projects).  You also need to be able to Log onto Project Server from Project Pro (Admins, Portfolio Managers, Project Managers, Resource Managers)

This permission is not just the owner, but its any Administrator, any Portfolio Manager, and if you are a PM, any Project in the My Projects category . In you case, sounds like My Organisation permissions is modified.   Please validate the permissions for the My Organisation. Please see below article for more info: http://www.projectserverexperts.com/ProjectServerFAQKnowledgeBase/RenameProject.aspx  (this article is good for PS2010 ).

    Hope that helps.
