windows vista cannot enable hibernate button RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good day everybody.

I've run into a small problem on my vista ultimate x64 laptop. (SP 1)
When I had just installed vista, I recovered the hibernation option in the startmenu via the commandprompt with command "powercfg -h on".
Now the hibernate option was visible again in the expand menu next to the shutdown button in the startmenu. After the upcoming reboot, the option was gone again, so I entered the command again, but it wouldn't come back again. Now, about three weeks later, several updates later, and several program installations later, it still doesn't show up, and isn't comming back after entering the command above in the commandprompt.

Can anybody help me out with this? Or is anyone having the same issue? Thanks in advance for any responses!

P.S. Note that the sleep option IS available, it's just the hibernate button.
