Number to name resolution only working for some users RRS feed

  • We have a Cisco CUCM phone system with Lync EV, when we make a call from only Lync user to another Lync user via PSTN the name of the person is recognized from their number and is displayed in the toast.

    When the caller leaves a VM only for some users is the name recognized in the VM email as below, for other users you only see the number not the name.

    I have looked at the AD attributes for differences between users where it works and does not worked and I have narrowed it down to some custom attributes which have been added to our AD schema as below.

    If this attribute is populated with the users lync extn their name is shown in the email, looking on technet at the matching process im not sure how UM server knows to check for this as its a non standard attribute. Can someone tell me what is going on here?

    I assumed it would just match the E.164 number from the call to an AD user doing as reverse lookup but that does not seem to be the case.
