Does the mail flow rule able to identify the type of Calendaring message?

    Question

  • For the mail flow rule,

there is a condition about The message properties -> include the message type

For the message types, there is option about Automatic reply, Auto-forward, Encrypted, Calendaring and others.

I believe the Calendaring message can be either a meeting request or meeting response.

Which meeting request is the organizer send an event invitation to attendees

and meeting response is the attendees response to the organizer.

I am looking a way to identify a calendar message is meeting request or meeting response. is it possible done in Exchange Mail Flow Rule?

  • This condition applies to all calendar related items afaik, not just requests. You should be able to use Outlook rules to distinguish between invite/response though.

  • Agree with Vasil.

Outlook has an inbox rule condition called "which is a meeting invitation or update", we could perform some actions to the meeting invitation or updates regarding to the condition.
