Fiery/Xerox Print Driver script to install port/driver/printer

Question

Hi There,
Hope you are doing well.
We have a mixed environment (windows 7 x64 and windows 8, 8.1). There are too many clients to install manually and no print server.
There are a great many disparate tidbits to do this part or that part on the internet and I spent a lot of time before coming here. I have searched google and youtube(yes) and tried manySince I have windows 7 clients, I believe the lowest common denominator is vbscript(?). I can add a port so far, but I have yet to add the driver correctly or the printer. Here's an example of one approach I tried: http://i.imgur.com/1TqL52V.png
If you could spend some time walking me though this, I will create a good tutorial and post it a few places. Heck, maybe all I need is five minutes with my logmein with someone like you!
Thank you for your time. It's really appreciated.
ps: the driver I need to deploy is this one: http://goo.gl/nXKfDb

Look at: dir \windows\system32\Printing_Admin_Scripts
The scripts have built in help.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Your question doesn't make any sense, sorry. The correct solution is to use a print server.
Think of it this way: Why would others write a solution for your specific scenario when a supported solution is already available? This forum is really for scripting questions, not for custom design and consulting where we develop turnkey solutions for free (particularly when a supported solution is already available: Print server).

Hi Bill. Okay, that's fair enough. I didn't know you couldn't consult your peers on solutions here. I'll look elsewhere. Regards.Monday, November 24, 2014 7:05 PM

You can also refer to jrv's solution to look at the tools Microsoft has already provided. I would still recommend installing a print server, though, as a print server is by far the easiest and most manageable solution.
