System Center DPM - SP1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed a Windows Server 2012 R2 machine and have some VM's on them that I wanted DPM to backup.

It is failing.  It will just not do a consistency check. Unkown error.

Thought I should first make sure I had all updates.  I had not done SP1.  I have been trying to download SP! for System Center 2012 for DPM or all or System Center.

The only thing I can find is a SP1 download as a free 180 trial.  I want to update my licensed version.

    How do I get it?

This may not solve my issue but I should have the latest code.  I assume I should not be required to also buy a System Center 2012 R2?  This would be a problem for our budget.

  • SC DPM 2012 SP1 does not support the 2012 R2 Hyper-Visor. 2012 SP1 was released, and designed before Server 2012 R2 was released. Unfortunately, the only way to protect 2012 R2 hyper-v is by upgrading to System Center DPM 2012 R2 as well.
