Document conversion to word 2013 reduces table width RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I convert a document created in Word 2007 that has more than one table the cell widths are reduced in resulting Word 2013 document. I have screenshots, but do not see a way to attach them to this message.

Is this change intentional or an unforeseen consequence of the upgraded rendering engine?

  • I can't really tell if it applies to your situation, but Word 2013 changed the way text in table cells are aligned with the surrounding text. In earlier versions, the border ended up outside the left margin of the page so that table text was aligned with the body text.

  • Formatting changes from version to version are ordinary. I have not examined this one in particular.

  • To attach an image, click on the image button at the top of the window you type in. Select it and upload.

Then click "Insert" in the dialog.

  • I was going to attach pictures for you, however, Microsoft has not yet verified my account in this forum even though I clicked on the link received in my email to confirm. When that gets sorted, I'll upload some screen shots.

    Thank you for your time.

  • Hi,

I agree with Charles Kenyon that it could be normal that formatting changes from version to version.

    Has your account been verified?

If still no, you can upload the images to OneDrive and share it with us by a link. Please pay attention to other files stored in your OneDrive, don't share it with others in case of any privacy issues.

  • Before and after pics, notice the width of the tables. I really don't think that should happen as all of my documents have tables created by VBA code to be a specific width for a reason.

Body text cannot contain links or images until we verify your account....I confirmed the e-mail, what else do I have to do?
