FIM 2010 R2 - Check if a user exists during user creation workflow RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all!

I would like to implement the following user creation process :

    1. A HR person creates a user in the FIM 2010 R2 portal. Only firstName and lastName are set by the HR person. The other attributes are calculated by the synchronization rule, ex : firstName.lastName => sAMAcountName
    2. The manager approves (or rejects) the creation
    3. With the appropriate Synchronization Rule, the user is created in my AD domain

I would like to include a process between step 1 and step 2. This process aims to verify that no other user exists with the same sAMAccountName (in AD or in the portal). If a user exists with the same sAMAccountName, another sAMAccountName is defined (firstName<incremental number>.lastName)

After a lot of research, I don't really know how to do (specify activity, PowerShell actiivity, other thing...?)

Does someone already done this ?

Thank you in advance for your help!
